Shady Oak Christian School serves preschoolers ages 3 (and potty trained) through kindergarten. The school was established almost 30 years ago by director, Joyce Trigger. Shady Oak exists to preserve childhood in the lives of boys and girls through developmentally appropriate education designed to meet their social, emotional, intellectual, physical, and spiritual needs. We believe that children need a multitude of whole- body sensory experiences on a daily basis in order to develop strong bodies and minds. Families who join the Shady Oak “village” find support in raising their children in ways that often seem counter-culture. The development of self-regulation is at the center of our work with children. Click here to visit our site: http://ShadyOak.net.
At Shady Oak Primary School we inspire children to be self-motivated, self-reliant and independent thinkers. We provide the academic and life skills that encourage our students to love learning and be successful. We concentrate on the core foundational skills in reading, writing and arithmetic. Our whole child approach to learning empowers the child to participate and together we instill a love of learning. We work in partnership with our families and form a ‘village’ of support through parent education and involvement. In 2014, Debbie Elder assumed the role of director from Joyce Trigger.
